Teams from county schools were at the Olympics last Thursday—facing challenges that included trembling towers, packaging panic and test track vehicles.

Students from grades 4 to 6 were competing in the Tri-County Regional School Board’s Science Olympics that were held in the Digby Area Arena.

This is the seventh year Digby area schools have participated, and the 10th year the regional school board has held the Science Olympics.

In the grade 4 competition, gold, silver and bronze went to students from Digby Elementary. Grade 5 gold went to Barton Consolidated with silver and bronze to Digby Elementary. The grade 6 category saw gold go to Digby Neck Consolidated, silver to Islands Consolidated and bronze to Digby Elementary.

Each of these teams advances to compete at the regional Science Olympics being held June 3 at Meadowfields Elementary School in Yarmouth.
