Sem Paul Obed, 43, was released from a federal prison this morning after serving a two-year sentence for assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation after he attacked a bartender in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in August 2012.
Obed has more than 30 prior convictions for a battery of crimes, ranging from attempted murder to sexual assault. With a criminal record dating back to 1984 and at a very high risk to re-offend in a sexual or violent manner according to a professional evaluation, Obed’s presence in Halifax must be noted under the High Risk Offender Information Protocol.
Obed is an Innu man, 5’11”, 170 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, a dark moustache and he wears glasses. While in Halifax, Obed must abide by several conditions, including a curfew and avoidance of alcohol.
