This year Jason McCutcheon and his wife Chrissy are co-chairing the event.
“We’re on track for the Relay and the committee is working hard and doing a great job. We have just over 20 teams that are raising funds and we’re starting to get money in so we’re looking forward to a great relay,” McCutcheon said in an interview last week.
“We’re looking forward to a great opening ceremony.”
McCutcheon said there have been a few snags along the way.
“We had planned to use the curling club extensively but it’s being renovated. So we are moving to Digby Elementary Schools cafeteria,” for activities such as the survivor banquet, reception, movie, scrapbooking and bingo, he said.
Master of ceremonies for this year’s event is Jeff Cowan, which McCutcheon is excited about. Musician John Gracie, who has performed during past Relays, is unable to attend, so harp players Ardyth and Jennifer will provide music.
Teams can still register Friday between 4 -7p.m. at the team tent while survivor registration takes place from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the survivor tent. There will be entertainment on stage by Ucan2.

The luminary ceremony will begin on the main stage at 10 a.m.
Throughout the night there will be activities such as tug of war, funny hat lap, PJ lap, showing of a movie and more.
