The Digby General Hospital Emergency Department will be closed the following four shifts in February 2013 due to physician unavailability:

        Friday, Feb. 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

        Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

        Friday, Feb. 8, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

        Friday, Feb. 15, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Digby County residents requiring emergency services during the hours of closure should visit the nearest open Emergency Department or Collaborative Emergency Centre. Please call first to ensure it is open.

The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency; paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital. In non-emergency situations, residents can call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice.

We apologize for any inconvenience these closures may cause. The full news release can be found on the South West Health website: www.swndha.nshealth.ca
