Digby General Hospital has announced two planned closures in may for its emergency department due to physician unavailability.
The emergency department will be closed Monday, May 7, and Friday, May 18. Both closures are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
People requiring emergency services during the closures are advised to visit the nearest open emergency department, but to telephone first to ensure the department is open.
The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency. Paramedics can administer life saving treatment during transport to hospital.
In non-emergency situations, residents can call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice.
