Digby General Hospital’s emergency department will close for three 12-hour shifts in April due to physician unavailability.
The department will be closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 2; Friday, April 13; and Monday, April 16.
People requiring emergency services during those closures are advised to visit the nearest open emergency department.
The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency; paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital. In non-emergency situations, callers to 811 can speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice.
When you go to any emergency department bring your Nova Scotia Health Card, a list of your medications and a list of allergies.
