ER closing two Mondays

Digby General Hospital emergency department will be closed two 12-hour shifts during March due to physician unavailability.

The department will be closed Monday, March 5, and Monday, March 26. Both closures run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

People requiring emergency services during the hours of closure should visit the nearest open emergency department.

The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency. paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital. In non-emergency situations, residents can call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice.
