Newfoundland writers Lisa Moore and James Langer will be doing readings Saturday at Eldridge Memorial Library in Sandy Cove and Bare Canvas Gallery in Bear River.

The writers are on a summer tour of the province that will also see them at ArtsPlace in Annapolis Royal tomorrow, July 24.

Moore is the award-winning author of Degrees of Nakedness, Open, and Alligator.

Open was nominated for the Giller Prize and won the Canadian Authors' Association Jubilee Prize for Short Fiction. Alligator was also nominated for the Giller Prize and won the Commonwealth Prize for the Canadian-Caribbean Region and the ReLit Award.

She lives with her family in St. John’s.

Langer is a poetry editor for The Fiddlehead. His poems have been published in numerous literary journals, including TickleAce, lichen, Arc, Grain, Event, The Fiddlehead, The Newfoundland Quarterly, The Antigonish Review, and Riddle Fence. Originally from St. John's, he now lives in Fredericton, N.B.
