Former Digby Courier reporter Steve Maich has been appointed editor and associate publisher of Canadian Business, a national magazine with a reported readership of more than one million people.

Topics :
Canadian Business magazine , Maclean's , Journalism School , Halifax

Maich, who began his career at the Courier in 1998 after graduating from King’s Journalism School in Halifax, has served in a variety of increasingly senior editorial roles at the national current affairs magazine Maclean's over the last six years. He most recently served as executive editor. "Steve is a remarkably talented journalist with strong instincts for the kinds of stories Canadians want to read in print and digitally," said Ken Whyte, vice-president and publisher of Canadian Business. "The team at Canadian Business has established the magazine as one of the country's strongest and most respected voices on business affairs, and I'm excited to continue building on that strength," Maich said. "Given the state of the global economy, it's never been more important to provide Canadians with timely intelligence and insight into the risks and opportunities at home and abroad."

Maich has won three National Magazine Awards for column and feature writing, and co-authored the 2009 book ‘The Ego Boom: Why The World Really Does Revolve Around You’. In addition to leading the editorial team at Canadian Business magazine, Maich will continue to contribute to business coverage at Maclean's.
