Erin Knight of St. Catharine’s, Ont., and Leo McKay Jr. of Maitland, will offer public readings of their works Feb. 29 in the library of Université Sainte-Anne at Church Point.

Knight, the granddaughter of Valerie Young Mount of Deep Brook, is on the faculty of Niagara College in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Her book of poetry, ‘The Sweet Fuels’, was published in 2007 by Goose Lane Publishing of Fredericton, N.B.

McKay is the author of ‘Twenty-Six’, a work of fiction based on the Westray mining disaster in which 26 miners lost their lives. His first book, a collection of short stories, earned him a nomination for the Giller Prize in 1995.

Both writers are also presenting readings of their works in Charlottetown, Fredericton, Moncton and Halifax.
