I am the manager of Fancy Jewellers. I volunteer with the Digby Fire Dept., Digby Minor Hockey and chair the nomination committee of the Digby Area Sports Hall of Fame.
We must continue working with all levels of government to recruit and retain both doctors and nurse practitioners. People in the area need better access to local health care providers. We need to continue working with the municipal council, the hospital foundation and the provincial government to have the collaborative centre finished as son as possible.
2012 was a challenging year for Digy with the increased cost of the ner RCMP contract, large provincial dowlanoads and the continuing elimination of the business occupancy tax. I hope woith the completion of the new waste water system there will be considerable savings that will allow us to lower the taxes and water rates.
I hope people will vote for me so I and council can continue to work for the betterment of Digby.
