I have been a resident of Digby County my entire life. Currently, I am a teacher at DRHS.
Education, employment, accessibility and health care are all major issues facing the residents of the town of Digby.
I understand the concerns facing the youth of this community and believe that it is important that we as a community do more to provide opportunities for our youth that will them help find successful futures in Digby.
Continued growth of the regional tourism industry is vital to the success of the town of Digby. I believe that my 12 years of work experience in the industry will be essential when encouraging people to move to and visit this beautiful town.
Communication is the key to a successful community and it is my goal to increase communication with the constituents of this town. Being accessible and understanding of concerns will allow everyone to feel they have a voice at town council.
I have always known that I wanted to become a teacher and return to the Digby area. Fortunately, this has become my reality. Sadly, many of my peers, and the youth I work with on a daily basis, feel that they need to leave in order to find jobs and be successful. As a town councillor, I will work towards altering this troubling trend.
