Dolphins, Golf Classic up for awards

The Digby Dolphins provincial swimming championships in August is a finalist in the ‘Event of the Year’ category in the Annapolis Valley Events and Sport Tourism Association’s annual awards.

Also in the running for the AVESTA Awards is the Digby Golf Classic in the Sport Legacy category.

The awards celebrate achievements of Valley events and festivals, recognizing their important positive economic and social impact on the region. Winners will be announced at a luncheon Nov. 15 in the Old Orchard Inn.

Guest speaker at the luncheon is Alexandra Duckworth, a two-time Canadian snowboard champion.

The awards event is open to the general public. Tickets can be booked through avesta@kingsrda.ca
