Minister offers sympathies to Trask family

Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Sterling Belliveau expressed his sympathies to the family of David Trask, the fishing captain who went down with his boat Wednesday off the coast of Yarmouth.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the Trask family and friends, his community and our fishing industry," said Belliveau. "Nova Scotia fishermen work in challenging conditions on a regular basis as they carry out their jobs in an unforgiving setting, the ocean."

The minister also offered his thanks and admiration to those who participated with search and rescue efforts, as well as everyone in the community who continue to provide support.
