In Nova Scotia, $40.2 million is being provided under the government’s Economic Action Plan for projects at core commercial fishing harbours over the next two years. This is in addition to $7.9 million in regular program funding this year in the province.

A major project will be starting at Saulnierville, and wharf repairs and improvements are planned for Little River, Meteghan and Westport.

The projects are being undertaken by Fisheries and Oceans Canada's Small Craft Harbours Program, in collaboration with the harbour authorities that manage and operate the facilities.
