The Digby County Courier now fits on your smartphone.
Transcontinental’s IT crew have launched a mobile version of the site at m.digbycourier.ca, so instead of loading the standard site, your iPhone, Blackberry or Android smart phones should automatically load the new mobile site.
I check our site a lot to make sure things are appearing the way we want, and I love the new mobile format. I find it’s cleaner, loads quicker and works in a way that should be familiar to readers of our standard site.
The photogallery is probably my favourite part of the mobile site—the picture at the top of this story has arrows left or right—click on those to move through an assortment of photos I added so you could check out the gallery.
Kelli and I are uploading stories 24/7—whenever the news happens, so it only makes sense that our readers be able to access our site wherever they happen to be when the news happens.
You get the weather at a glance on every page thanks to a partnership between TC • Media and The Weather Network. The current weather is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the screen and clicking on “Digby, Nova Scotia” gives you a complete forecast.
This new platform also makes it easy to share stories with friends and family. Under every story are icons for email, Twitter and Facebook sharing, not to mention comments.
You can see a video demo'ing the new platform at www.tc.tc/localnews.
