The evening starts at 7 p.m. with seven individual productions and all proceeds go to the Oakdene Centre.

“The Oakdene Centre is abuzz with all the last minute preparations for an evening of original performance art,” said coordinator Pamela Barron.

She and her husband George were involved in performance and experimental theatre prior to arriving in Bear River and didn’t know what to expect when Ken Flett and the two of them came up with the concept for Secret Seeds.

Barron said there is an abundance of talent germinating for the production and the segments “make a complete departure from anything anyone would expect to see in a traditional theatre setting.”

Although there was no formal discussion about what the title ‘Secret Seeds’ meant, Barron said it opened the door for everyone involved to explore their creativity.

“We have all been pretty tight-lipped about what people will see that night, it is Secret Seeds after all,” Barron said.

She did hint there would be original poetry, original dance choreography, project images, singing, acting and more.

There are roughly 25 volunteers for the production and the suggested donation is $10 or pay what you can, said Barron.
